We also started including more vegetarian protein sources like beans, sprouts, tofu etc. DH likes it, especially because our grocery bill went down about 50%. We buy mostly organic so buying a lot of meat can get pretty expensive. Beans, on the other hand, are quite cheap - even when they are organic.Elisa @ Globetrotting in Heelshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13920820564549246339noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8161579608494284950.post-21813653121839442972008-09-04T21:27:00.000-10:002008-09-04T21:27:00.000-10:00I doubt you will miss the meat.It will stop seemin...I doubt you will miss the meat.

It will stop seeming like food even.

GOOD FOR YOU SISTAH.

I'm considering my first Xmas away from the islands, but if I'm in HI I would love to connect and say Mele Kalikimaka.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8161579608494284950.post-58441231220675700482008-09-03T19:17:00.000-10:002008-09-03T19:17:00.000-10:00Haha you rule. I had done so as well after my dad had his quadruple bypass and it made sense for me to do so.

Here is some good info on cutting out red meat: http://www.gillianmckeith.info/. She has great tips on eating healthy, and I just bought two of her books. She also has a show on BBC America called You Are What You Eat. It is insanely informative and helpful.

I find myself more energetic and feeling less sluggish after meals. If I do decide to eat red meat, I go for locally raised and cruelty free organic beef because it doesn't impact the environment as much through consumption.Noelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07375506966836719051noreply@blogger.com
