My Snazzy New Toy

Well, I went and did it. I purchased an iPhone.

A while back, I wrote about my desire for an iPhone. But in reality, I simply assumed that it was a pipe dream, bound for the same place as my aspiration to be a drummer for the Beastie Boys.

The stars have aligned, however. Apple came out with the newer, less expensive iPhone 3G. My previous phone plan recently expired, and my old dinosaur phone was moments away from death. Best of all, my husband volunteered to be the one to stand in the mile-long line at the Apple Store with all the other iPhone crazies.

And I am now the proud owner of The Most Delightfully Useful and Insanely Gorgeous Electronic Device Ever.

  1. But my question to you is: Can it make phonecalls?

  4. Hey, my iPhone App was just approved, so it's in the App Store now. It's called Brain Tuner (and is posted under Bridger Maxwell). It's free, so try it! And if you like it, give it a high rating :)

  7. Is it really cheaper? I heard they lowered the price, but they made all the things more expensive on the plan?

I hope you like it, though, I have heard great things about it.

  10. Cool! I wanted a iPhone but when I was time to upgrade my phone plan the price of an iPhone was too much for me. I have a pda smartphone and it does it purpose. But I so want an iPhone who knows when it's time to upgrade I may be able to afford it and it may even be better than what's out there. Enjoy your Snazzy New Toy!!!

  13. I haven't caught the iphone craze but I've heard nothing but good things about it! I'm in the process of getting a new phone now, but I'm leaning towards a blackberry.

  14. I'm jealous of your iPhone.

I want an iPod touch. I don't know exactly what it is, but I know I want one.

  15. Anonymous: it CAN!

EP: I love it, and have been obsessed with it all week.

Andrea: the new plan is a little pricey. But relative to other similar devices, like Blackberries, it's pretty comparable. We scaled back on our cable, so our monthly costs didn't change much.

Passionista: I know lots of people who love their Blackberries. BUT...my best friend just got a Blackberry, while her husband got an iPhone, and she's extremely jealous and regrets that she chose the Blackberry over the iPhone.

  16. I'm so excited to get mine! I hope I don't have to line up for forever to do so...(will be getting it when I move to NYC, since I'll have to have a new contract anyway) I'm so looking forward to combining my phone, ipod, and PDA!

Also, did you sign up for Mobile Me? I think I might...
