Bananas Foster Milkshake

Bananas Foster, in milkshake form! This just makes sense.

When I saw this recipe for a bananas foster milkshake in a magazine last month, I knew we had to make it. A creamy banana and rum concoction sounded heavenly, particularly to a recently pregnant woman who had to abstain from alcohol for 9 months.

My gallant husband jumped into action and mixed these up one night, after the kids were in bed.

To say we enjoyed the milkshakes would be a complete understatement. Between sips, the words, "Mmm...this is SO GOOD," and "Seriously, this is SO GOOD," were uttered more than several times.

Thickened by the banana, the milkshakes have a perfect consistency. They are thick, creamy, and incredibly tasty. And the caramel sauce puts it over the top.

Please, for the love of all things delicious, indulge in this milkshake at least once before the summer ends.

1/2 ripe banana
2 tablespoons spiced rum
2 tablespoons caramel sauce
1 tablespoon dark rum

Blend together ice cream, banana, spiced rum, and caramel sauce in a blender until smooth. Pour into a tall glass and top with dark rum. Makes one serving.
