Alexandra - 6 Months Old

Our little daughter is about to be 6 months old soon. Holy cow, that went by fast.

Alex is so much fun these days. In the last few weeks, she started sitting up and scooting on her stomach. If a toy is placed a few feet away, she will, with great determination and effort, inch toward it. As she becomes more mobile, more supervision is required. Sadly, gone are the days when we could simply plop her on the bed and leave the room.

She will gladly be held by anybody, and squeals with delight when people smile or laugh near her. But without a doubt, her favorite person in the world is her big brother. She lights up when Aaron is around, and will laugh hysterically if he's doing something silly. Watching their sibling relationship form is pretty great.

What's not great is her sleep. She wakes up 2-3 times in the night to nurse, which means it has been way too long since my last good night of sleep. I know this stage doesn't last forever, but ugh.

We will celebrate her 1/2 year birthday by feeding her solid food (rice cereal) for the first time. Hopefully she celebrates by sleeping for longer stretches!
