To end the European vacation posts, here is the scoop on our time in Milan, Italy.
We only had a few days there, but oh man, we had a great time! I am convinced that the best way to explore a city is to get a map and public transportation pass, and just see where you end up. Somehow, with zero knowledge of Italian language except for ciao, we made it around without much trouble.
And now for the photos:
First priority of the trip: pizza. Seriously, it was the most delicious I've ever had, and I'd pay good money to eat pizza of this caliber on a regular basis.
Another thing we just had to do was to purchase a cannoli from a street vendor.
And of course...gelato! Yummmy. Thank goodness I don't live in Italy, because if I did, I'd surely put on excessive pounds from all the tempting gelaterie on every single corner.
We visited the famous Duomo di Milano, one of the biggest cathedrals in the world. I am not usually impressed by buildings, but the Duomo was breathtaking. We spent a long time here, walking around the Piazza, and visiting the surrounding shops.
Later, we watched the EuroCup final in the Piazza of the Duomo on a HUGE outdoor screen with about 5,000 fans. Most of the crowd was rooting for Spain, and the entire place errupted when Spain won. Definitely one of the highlights of the trip.
We'll be back from our vacation soon. Though we've had an amazing time, I am looking forward to sleeping in my own bed, not living out of my suitcase, and reconnecting with our normal lives.
It has been fun to write while abroad. You can look forward to an upcoming post on "How to Maintain Healthy Habits While Traveling."
Arrivederci, friends!
